Delivery Lead – Retail Management Systems
Core Responsibilities:
- Merchandising Strategy & Backlog: Author detailed user stories focused on core merchandising logic, including inventory valuation, price management, and product attribution, ensuring clear acceptance criteria for complex retail workflows.
- RMS Requirement Discovery: Lead discovery workshops to translate retail business needs into robust technical specifications.
- Agile & Waterfall Execution: Orchestrate and execute core Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) while navigating the hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments often found in large-scale RMS implementations.
- Backlog Refinement: Facilitate regular refinement sessions to ensure task clarity, specifically managing dependencies between front-end e-commerce platforms and back-end ERP/RMS systems.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively communicate progress, blockers, and technical impediments to all levels of the organization, from developers to executive leadership, bridging the gap between “retail speak” and “tech speak.”
Technical & Merchandising Expertise:
- System Integration: Deep understanding of how Retail Management Systems feed downstream e-commerce product catalogs, ensuring data integrity across pricing, promotions, and availability.
- Lifecycle Management: Experience managing the product lifecycle within an RMS, including SKU creation, hierarchy mapping (Class/Sub-class), and end-of-life markdown strategies.
- Allocation & Merchandising: Exposure to how inventory allocation is managed for large retailer, understanding the strategy behind the allocation.
- E-commerce Collaboration: Proven experience working with e-commerce product teams to optimize the flow of merchandising data to enhance the digital customer experience.
