Product Owner, Entry Level

Position Summary

Our client is looking for an entry-level Product Owner to join our Product & Delivery practice. This is a hybrid role for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience translating business needs into working software on real client engagements, with direct mentorship from experienced Product Owners and Delivery leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior Product Owners and Delivery Leads to translate client business requirements into clear, well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain and groom the product backlog, ensuring stories are prioritized, estimated, and ready for sprint planning.
  • Support day-to-day communication with client stakeholders, gathering feedback and clarifying requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Participate in and help facilitate agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, and UX teams to ensure delivered features meet acceptance criteria and business intent.
  • Track and report on sprint progress, flagging risks, blockers, and scope changes to the Delivery Lead.
  • Contribute to solution documentation, including process flows, requirements docs, and release notes.
  • Support UAT coordination, including test case review and defect triage.
  • Help define and track success metrics for features and releases, and support post-launch review of outcomes.
  • Build foundational knowledge of composable commerce platforms and practices used across Aries engagements (e.g., commercetools, BigCommerce, Algolia).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 0–2 years of professional experience; internships or coursework in product management or business analysis are a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across both technical and business audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting requirements.
  • Genuine curiosity about eCommerce, digital transformation, and how software products get built.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum concepts and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) is a plus, but not required.
  • A collaborative, ownership-driven mindset — comfortable asking questions and taking initiative in a fast-moving consulting environment.

What we offer

  • Direct mentorship from experienced Product Owners and Delivery leadership.
  • Real client-facing exposure early in your career, across composable commerce and AI-driven engagements.
  • A fully remote work environment that balances flexibility with in-person collaboration.
  • A growing firm where you can help shape delivery practices as we scale our Product & Solution Delivery capability.
