Technical Lead – PIM

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Lead – PIM to lead Product Information Management (PIM) solution design, implementation, and integration for enterprise commerce clients. This role requires deep hands-on experience with modern PIM platforms such as Akeneo, Salsify, or inRiver, and the ability to guide both technical and business stakeholders from discovery through deployment.

As the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for solution architecture, overseeing development teams, ensuring data modeling best practices, and integrating PIM with ERP, eCommerce, DAM, and other systems within a composable commerce stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Architecture
  • Lead PIM solution architecture and integration strategy for enterprise clients.
  • Define product data models, workflows, and governance standards.
  • Ensure PIM implementation aligns with client business goals, scalability needs, and composable commerce principles.
• Implementation Leadership
  • Oversee configuration, customization, and deployment of Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver, or similar PIM solutions.
  • Manage and mentor development teams across multiple geographies.
  • Coordinate with business analysts, QA, and integration specialists to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Integration & Data Management
  • Design and implement integrations with ERP, DAM, eCommerce (SFCC, Shopify, BigCommerce, etc.), OMS, and marketing platforms.
  • Establish and enforce data governance, enrichment workflows, and syndication processes.
  • Ensure robust API usage and maintain performance/security best practices.
• Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for PIM projects.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and solution documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

• 6+ years of experience in enterprise software implementation, with 3+ years focused on modern PIM platforms (Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver, or similar).
• Proven track record designing and delivering PIM integrations in large-scale commerce ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of product taxonomy, attribute modeling, and data governance.
• Experience with REST APIs, middleware, and integration frameworks (MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo, etc.).
• Hands-on knowledge of relational databases, data mapping, and ETL processes.
• Leadership experience guiding cross-functional and offshore development teams.

Preferred:

• Experience in composable commerce architecture and MACH principles.
• Familiarity with DAM platforms and syndication networks (Salsify syndication, Contentserv, etc.).
• Retail, CPG, or manufacturing industry experience.
• Multi-lingual data management exposure.
