Product Owner
Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for handling challenges, ensuring performance and responsiveness, and collaborating with stakeholders, both internally on design/engineering teams and externally on client teams.
This role leads a cross-functional agile team, collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and leadership. Strong communication, adaptability, and a delivery mindset are required to translate complex requirements into measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

| 55% | Discovery & Backlog Creation – Talking through the client business requirements with the appropriate audience to gather requirements & uncover the true needs of the business – Reviewing requirements with the design team to help craft the appropriate UX/UI for the project – Working with the development team to capture technical requirements & ensure that the solution will meet the business needs – Taking the results of the discovery sessions, UX/UI designs & technical conversations, and creating a backlog of work for the team – Taking the user stories through refinement, planning & UAT – Creation of a roadmap & timeline for the project work to ensure completion on time & within budget – Set-up meetings as needed to discuss any questions that the team might have about the requirements – Watch out for blockers, dependencies & work with the necessary people to remove them |
| 30% | Collaboration & Delivery – Partner with lead developers to report progress both internally & externally with client stakeholders, be transparent about the progress of the work and raise any concerns early to ensure that everyone is aware – Lead scrum ceremonies & take on action items from the team – Build a strong relationship with the client stakeholders to develop trust |
| 10% | Testing support & Iteration – Help lead UAT & testing plans for the project – Partnering with the QA / QA Automation lead to ensure that we have the coverage necessary to release with confidence – Help contribute to go-live planning, attend client deployment calls & help troubleshoot/escalate issues as they arise |
| 5% | Customer & Industry Research – Contribute to user research sessions, persona development, and design strategy activities led by Senior team members – Stay on top of the latest industry trends, tools & hot topics such as AI |
Requirements
Essential
- 3–5+ years of professional Product Manager experience, ideally within a digital agency or e-commerce environment
- Strong proficiency in Scrum tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Powerpoint, Excel, Roadmapping tools, etc.
- Experience with e-commerce product teams
- Understanding of e-commerce standards, the different areas of the site (account, checkout, search, ect)
- Familiarity with technologies (MACH, APIs, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) sufficient to collaborate effectively with developers
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly present progress and solutions to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of developers, quality assurance & design
- Experience developing and maintaining a backlog, roadmap & project plan
- Creation of user stories with industry-standard best practices
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies
- Performs tasks with little supervision and is self-motivated and self-directed
Preferred
- Experience working with a team within agile methodologies
- Experience building B2C, B2B, and D2C e-commerce
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a composable commerce or SaaS environment
- Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar) to inform data-driven design decisions
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Business Management
