Talend-Based Data Integration Engineer with Supply Chain Systems Experience
Role Summary
This engineering position is primarily responsible for architecting and delivering robust, scalable data integration solutions using Talend in a dynamic enterprise environment. This role is mission-critical in connecting and synchronizing data across systems such as Order Management Systems (OMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and ERP platforms. Candidates must be able to work across platforms and departments in an agile environment while collaborating closely with business stakeholders and technical peers.
This position requires a proactive, senior-level developer who can take ownership of data pipelines and enterprise integrations, while influencing best practices and mentoring teammates. The role will work closely with product owners, business analysts, architects, and operations stakeholders to deliver performant, reliable data solutions that power key business functions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise in Talend (preferably Talend Data Fabric), as well as domain knowledge of supply chain workflows. A solid understanding of APIs, ETL/ELT methodologies, and integration with ERP and fulfillment systems is essential.

Essential Tasks

- Design, build, and maintain high-performing Talend data integration jobs and pipelines across various business systems including ERP, OMS, and WMS platforms
- Ensure data consistency, quality, and availability across source and target systems through well-architected ETL/ELT processes
- Develop Talend workflows for batch and near-real-time processing using components like Talend Studio, TAC, and Talend Cloud
- Create reusable Talend artifacts and templates, enforcing enterprise-wide standards and patterns – Optimize performance of data integrations and troubleshoot data flow issues across interconnected systems

- Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to gather requirements, translate into technical design, and deliver integrated data solutions
- Participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, refinement, sprint planning) and contribute to estimation and sprint commitments
- Serve as a liaison between engineering and business operations teams for key data initiatives – Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and help shape best practices for data integration

- Monitor and maintain data jobs in production using Talend Administration Center (TAC), including job scheduling, logging, and failure resolution
- Support business users by diagnosing and resolving data quality and integration issues – Recommend enhancements, patches, or upgrades to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of integration architecture
Requirements
- Education: Four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience – 7+ years of enterprise experience with Talend (Data Integration, Data Management, or Big Data platforms)
- Hands-on experience integrating Talend with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), Order Management Systems, and Warehouse Management Systems
- Deep knowledge of ETL/ELT techniques, error handling strategies, and data validation approaches – Proficient in SQL and working with both structured and semi-structured data – Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with EDI, JSON, XML, or flat file formats
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with technical and business stakeholders
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex integration challenges
Preferred
- Experience with Talend Cloud or Talend Data Fabric
- Familiarity with Kafka, Snowflake, or cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory) – Experience working in retail, eCommerce, or supply chain domains
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and data synchronization patterns
- Experience using Jira, Git, and automated testing tools for data workflows
